Toyota says: Your new experience of motoring
Would that be the thrill of unexpected acceleration?
How will Toyota’s troubles affect your future?
I have a huge amount of sympathy for anyone who works in any way shape or form for Toyota.
Whether in an assembly plant, parts manufacturing, in sales or support at a dealership, the service or maintenance business, whatever. It doesn’t take a genius to realize that this company is in trouble and so is your source of livelihood.
If this group includes you, you may well be feeling rather insecure about your future. I know I would be if I was in your shoes.
Let’s face it, regardless of what Toyota does now, their reputation is battered and bruised. It seems like every day or so there’s another news story about the Toyota recall and their reputation takes another massive hit.
It’s like a nightmare that never ends. You want to wake up and get back to normal, but it keeps on getting worse!
Now I might be exaggerating the situation. I might be totally surprised and see Toyota bounce back. In fact, I hope they do. But let’s face it, the reality is, even if they can recover from this, it will take time. And in the foreseeable future, people are likely to be very reluctant to buy a Toyota. Fear is a powerful force, and the media is playing on the fear for all it’s worth (hey, their job is to sell newspapers and airtime!).
There are tens of thousands of people who could be affected by this.
Your future
Why am I writing this?
Because this just could be a turning point in your life.
To quote the great Alexander Graham Bell, “When one door closes, another opens. But we often look so long and regretfully at the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.”
Now I know that not everyone will be interested in what I have to say. The simple fact is that an awful lot of people are not willing to do the things necessary to make changes in their lives. Hey, it’s easier to complain about everything, but to keep watching TV or surfing the net rather than doing something about creating a second income or a secure future.
But I also know that fear and uncertainty are great motivators and can drive people to do what it takes to change their situation. People with self motivation, people who are action takers.
I’m not as eloquent as Mr. Bell, but the world is full of opportunity. Even when things look bleak, it’s critical to see the opportunities, even if you have to look a little harder to find them!
If you’re interested in doing something positive to change your future, this just might be a turning point in your life.
